Development Engineer

Responsibilities:  

  • You will play a key role in the research, development and characterisation of our Perovskite material which will be used for novel MicroLED technology
  • Working closely with our senior development engineer you will design new solutions in order to test our materials  as we progress the technology and integration with microLED technology
  • Contribute to testing the optical performance of our materials 
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise the performance of the material, troubleshoot issues and contribute to the advancement of the technology  
  • Develop software tools for data analysis and automation of tests 
  • Keep up to date with latest advancements of the technology and suggest new lab equipment in order to advance our technology
  • Optical simulation of our colour conversion films which  include simulation light propagation, extraction & filtering

Experience and attributes:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, optics, optoelectronics or related field 
  • Experience developing optical or optomechanical test systems 
  • You have demonstrated in industry or your PHD that you can develop new testing solutions for a physics or material based product 
  • Theoretical understanding and hands-on experience with characterisation techniques  (such as optical measurements of light sources and optical systems)
  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical methods
  • Good knowledge of Python 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Happy to have a multidisciplinary role where you will juggle multiple priorities at one time 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Advantage: 

  • Knowledge or experience with microled or micro displays 
  • Experience with lithography techniques 
  • Experience with Lightools or other optical modelling software such as Zemax 
  • Experience with display optical characterisation techniques
  • Electronics experience, ideally with PCB design experience
